Steady Bend Bait & Tackle is a small, independent shop crafting hand-built fishing rods and stocking honest, fresh bait and tackle for people who'd rather be on the water. This site is our online storefront — a simple, secure place to browse our custom rods, grab the bait and terminal gear you need, and check out in a few clicks.

We built it for the early-morning panfish chasers, the midnight flathead hunters, and everyone in between — anglers who want gear that's been selected and built by people who actually fish, not a faceless warehouse. Every rod is built one at a time by hand: our Series rods in the lengths, powers and colors that fish best, and custom builds to your spec — your length, your action, your grip, your colors. And every item on our shelves is something we'd reach for ourselves.

We're Charlie Symanietz and Owen Skwira, the anglers behind Steady Bend. We started building rods in our garage in 2021 because we wanted rods designed around the way we actually fish — not something off a shelf that sort of worked. What started as a weekend hobby building rods for friends turned into a shop, a tackle counter, and now this store. We're still a small team — the same hands that wrap your guides are the ones answering the phone and stocking the minnow tanks. When you buy from us, you're buying from people who care whether you catch fish, and who stand behind every rod they build.
