Rod Warranty

Built by Hand. Backed by Steady Bend.

We stand behind the craftsmanship of every Steady Bend fishing rod we build. Each rod is assembled and finished by hand, and we want you to have confidence in the rod you're fishing.

1-Year Limited Craftsmanship Warranty

Steady Bend Bait & Tackle warrants the fishing rods we build against defects in our workmanship for one year from the original date of purchase.

If a covered workmanship issue occurs during the warranty period, Steady Bend will, at our discretion, repair the rod, replace the affected component, or replace the rod when repair is not practical.

Covered workmanship issues may include defects involving:

  • Guide installation or guides becoming loose under normal use
  • Reel-seat installation
  • Handle or grip installation
  • Thread wraps
  • Epoxy/finish application
  • Other failures directly resulting from our rod-building workmanship

Rod Blanks & Components

Steady Bend uses components from third-party manufacturers. Defects involving a rod blank, guides, reel seat, grips, or other components may also be subject to the component manufacturer's warranty.

When applicable, we'll help you determine whether the component may qualify for manufacturer warranty coverage.

What Isn't Covered

The Steady Bend craftsmanship warranty does not cover damage resulting from accidents, misuse, abuse, normal wear and tear, improper storage or transportation, unauthorized modifications or repairs, exceeding the rod's intended use, or damage unrelated to our workmanship.

Examples include rods that are stepped on, shut in doors or tailgates, crushed during transportation, damaged by excessive bending/high-sticking, or otherwise accidentally broken.

Accidental Damage Support

We know fishing rods get used hard.

For two years from the original date of purchase, if you accidentally damage your Steady Bend rod and the damage isn't covered by warranty, contact us before replacing it.

Whenever practical, we'll inspect the rod and offer a repair or replacement option at a reduced cost. The price will depend on the damage, replacement components required, and labor involved.

Accidental damage support is not free replacement coverage: it offers a reduced-cost repair or replacement when a repair is practical, and it doesn't cover a rod we can't repair or replace.

Ice Fishing Rods

Steady Bend ice rods receive the same 1-Year Limited Craftsmanship Warranty.

Because ice rods can experience accidental damage during transportation, storage, and use in shelters, sleds, vehicles, and other equipment, accidental breakage isn't considered a workmanship defect. Eligible accidental damage within the same two-year window can still be considered under our Accidental Damage Support program.

Making a Warranty Claim

Customers should contact Steady Bend Bait & Tackle with:

  • Name
  • Order number or proof of purchase
  • Date purchased
  • Description of the problem
  • Photos of the rod and damaged area

We may need to inspect the rod before determining whether the issue is covered.

Shipping or transportation costs associated with submitting a rod for inspection or repair may be the customer's responsibility unless Steady Bend determines that the issue is covered by our craftsmanship warranty.

Warranty Eligibility

This warranty applies to the original purchaser of a Steady Bend-built rod and is not transferable. Proof of purchase may be required.

Warranty service and remedies are determined by Steady Bend Bait & Tackle after inspection of the rod and the circumstances of the failure.
